Undergraduate

The University of Ghana announces for the information of the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants into various undergraduate programmes for the 2014/2015 academic year. Applicants should take note of the following:

• All Applicants who will be writing WASSCE in May/June  are eligible to apply. However, ONLY applicants whose results will be available to the University of Ghana by 1st September 2014 will be considered for admission.
• International Applicants (in Ghana and the West African sub-region) who will be writing WASSCE in May/June 2014 are eligible to apply.
• For all other International Applicants, only results provided by applicants at the close of applications shall be considered.
  
• For the Bachelor of Arts programme, applicants are required to select subjects from the list of bouquets provided.  Up to four (4) subject bouquets must be selected in order of preference.
• There is direct admission of applicants into all programmes offered by the College of Health Sciences but as first choice only.
• There is direct admission of applicants into the various Programmes available in the Faculty of Science. Applicants will be expected to select up to four (4) choices in order of preference.
• There is a direct admission of applicants into Level 100 of the LLB Programme at the Faculty of Law.
• Holders of other qualifications including International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade 12 examinations which hitherto were admitted to Level 200, will be admitted to Level 100.
• All students entering the BA progamme must offer three (3) subjects at Level 100, two (2) subjects at Level 200 and 300 and either keep the two or offer only one (1) subject at Level 400.

The University of Ghana offers Diploma programmes on a full-time basis at its Accra City Campus.

	University Librarian The University Librarian of the University of Ghana, Professor Edwin Ellis Badu, officially took office on April 1, 2011. Prof Edwin Ellis Badu, who was the Head of Department of Information Studies from 2000 - 2002, was approved by the University Council to succeed Prof A. A. Alemna. Professor Badu teaches System Analysis and Design, Automation of Information Systems and Techniques in Research at the Department of Information Studies, University of Ghana. He was also the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies from 2005 - 2009. He has a PhD and a Masters in Information Science from University of Sheffield, England and Ibadan, Nigeria respectively and a BSc. (Computer Science) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has consulted for a number of public and private institutions. Prof Badu's vision is to improve the University of Ghana Library Systems' capacity to deliver information services effectively and efficiently.
